Kata sifat adalah kata yang membatasi keadaan kata benda. dengan demikian, kata sifat menerangkankan benda yang dimaksud. Kata sifat dibagi menjadi 6 jenis.
- Proper Adjectives (katas sifat nama diri)
- Descriptive Adjectives (kata sifat deskritif)
- Quantitative Adjectives (kata sifat kuantitatif)
- Numeral Adjectives (kata sifat numeral)
- Demonstrative Adjectives (kata sifat penunjuk)
- Distribute Adjectives (kata sifat distributif)
Kata sifat ini dibentuk dengan nama diri kata benda dan harus ditulis dengan huruf kapital
Contoh:
- An Indonesian cuisine
- The language of Korean
- The Russian girls
- An Italian traditional
- A Javanese culture
Melukiskan keadaan atau sifat dari kata benda. Kata sifat ditulis di depan dari kata benda yang diterangkan.
Contoh:
- a tame dog
- a diligent student
- a childish boy
- a thin lady
- a peaceful face
Katas sifat yang menunjukkan jumlah tertentu dan diikuti oleh kata benda tunggal, baik material ataupun abstrak. Beberapa contoh kata sifat yang termasuk jenis ini adalah:
- whole : seluruh
- enough : cukup
- much : banyak
dipakai di depan kata benda tunggal yang tidak dapat dihitung
contoh: much water, much money, much hope, much coffee - some : sejumlah (tertentu)
- any : sejumlah (sedikit)
- no : tidak ada satupun
- little : sedikit
dipakai di depan kata benda tunggal yang tidak dapat dihitung
contoh: little money, little hope, little tea, little sugar
- My daughter ate much bread
- She had a little money
- You don’t have any food
- I have enough money to buy that car
- You have no money to pay
Kata sifat yang menunjukkan seberapa banyak atau urutan tertentu. Kata sifat ini dibagi menjadi dua golongan: Indefinite Numerals, Definite numerals dan Multiplicatives.
Sesuai dengan namamnya, Definite Numeral menyatakan bilangan yang dapat dihitung dengan pasti. Definite Numeral dapat dinyatakan sebagai Cardinals Number atau Ordinals Number.
contoh dari Cardinal Number adalah: one, two, three, four, five....
contoh dari Ordinals Number adalah: first, second, third, fourth....
contoh dari Multiplicatives: single, double, twofold...
Indefinite Numerals menyiratkan jumlah yang tak pasti/tak tentu. contoh dari kata sifat ini adalah: few, all, several, some, enough, no, sundry

- I need seven boys to win this race
- All men are mortal
- Few students are smart
- About five tourists came to this area this morning
Kata sifat yang membatasi pemakaian kata benda yang ditunjukkan oleh kata sifatnya. Kata sifat ini dibagi menjadi dua jenis: Definite Demostrative dan Indefinite Demostrative

Kata sifat yang digunakan untuk membatasi kata benda dengan hubungannya bahwa kata benda itu dipergunakan satu demi satu, yaitu: neither, each, either, every
Contoh:
- The two students had each a book
- I have to drink drugs every three hours
- You can choose either food; that is, that table or this table
- I should take neither side
